Image Oscillite has been around for five months. Here are its five most popular videos, according to Google Analytics:

  1. To Lee, With Love, Nick by SHOWstudio: A beautiful tribute to Alexander McQueen by director Nick Knight and set to an exclusive soundtrack by Björk, McQueen’s long time friend and collaborator.
  2. Oops by Chris Beckman, winner of the Vimeo Awards’ Experimental, judged by David Lynch.
  3. A “Moving Photograph” of Olivia Wilde taken by Tao Ruspoli in 2007 as part of the LAFCO project.
  4. A Mystery: Why Can’t We Walk Straight? A fascinating segment about how humans can’t walk in a straight line unless we have an external guide. We just end up walking in circles.
  5. Video vs The Real World by Zadi Diaz

I assume the Google Analytics information is referring only to views that happen outside of the Tumblr dashboard. I’d love to list the posts with the most Tumblr notes, but that information is sometimes unreliable and often unavailable altogether.

Since March, 2008, I’ve curated nearly 600 weird/arty/experimental/psychadelic videos at itsthr33am. You can watch a good chunk of them, nonstop, in this player. We’re talking hours, if not days, of stuff. Some videos are nsfw.

Please follow for awesomeness!

Time Piece is an experimental short film produced, directed, and written by Jim Henson, who also played the leading role. Henson began the project in the spring of 1964 and continued to work on it for nearly a year, between commercial projects and various Muppet television appearances. The short film premiered in May 1965 at the Museum of Modern Art and was distributed through Pathe Contemporary films to arthouse theaters and the film festival circuit. It played in New York City along with the French feature A Man and a Woman.

This is what I was strarting to upload when I rediscovered the track that led to the previous post.

My EyeTV tuner has a function that reads the TV signal strength aloud.  I ran that through my Korg Kaoss Pad’s vocoder and then “played” the instrument (altering the number spoken) by fiddling around with the connection between the TV tuner and the antenna while manipulating the pitch on the Kaoss Pad.  All of this was done live and simultaneously.
