I voted for Barack Obama because I was looking for pragmatism after eight years of George W. Bush’s petulance. I got what I voted for.
Obama has done plenty of things I disagree with, but he is once again the candidate with reason and reality on his side. He is not perfect. He is not magic, either. He’s just the guy that’s going to look at all of the facts and then try to make the best decision he can.
It’s really unfortunate that contemporary Republican ideologues have set the bar so low. But this is where we are. If pragmatism is something that matters to you, it’s pretty easy to figure out who to vote for.
