A one-month-old female woolly mammoth, frozen for 40,000 years, discovered in Siberia.
The mammoth—nicknamed Lyuba—is one of the most well-preserved specimens of the long-extinct species ever unearthed. Her skin and organs are said to be in perfect condition, and scientists have even been able to extract from her stomach mother’s milk Lyuba consumed prior to her untimely demise.
