Bill Moyers on the health care debate, Democrats,... →
michaelmcgee: unburyingthelead: MOYERS:  I don’t think the problem is the Republicans … .The problem is the Democratic Party. This is a party that has told its progressives — who are the most outspoken champions of health care reform — to sit down and shut up.  That’s what Rahm Emanuel, the Chief of Staff at the White House, in effect told progressives who stood up as a unit in Congress...

State law's reference to 'Almighty God' struck... →
notthatkindagay: A judge on Wednesday struck down a 2006 state law that required the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security to stress “dependence on Almighty God as being vital to the security of the commonwealth.” Franklin Circuit Judge Thomas Wingate ruled that the law violated the First Amendment’s protection against the establishment of a state religion. Homeland Security officials have...

During the health care fight this summer, the GOP has been warning seniors, in ominous tones, of the danger that Democrats might cut Medicare—conveniently forgetting that this has been the Republican party’s official position for more than a generation. Thankfully, their words have been immortalized.

Kevin Pollak has put out 20 episodes of his 2+ hour long “Kevin Pollak’s Chat Show” so far.  There are still some who will say he’s making his show 115+ minutes longer than any web audience will watch.  I didn’t buy that argument three years ago and I certainly don’t buy it now.  Of course, in 2006, I could only hope I was correct.  In 2009, I can prove it.
